Electric Drive for Honey Extractor Model RD1012A EURO
Installed on honey extractors manufactured by AVV-100 and Charunka, as well as Soviet-made models.
The electric drive is mounted on the extractor rotor shaft and provides rotation in the range of 50 to 220 RPM, with honey extraction time set between 1 and 7 minutes. The motor is controlled by a modern high-frequency field-effect transistor. During operation, the control unit constantly monitors input voltage, current consumption, and the temperature of key power components, ensuring reliability and protection against failure of device modules.
Overload protection.
When the current exceeds 4.5 A during operation, the indicator lights up. If the overload continues for more than 8 seconds, the device enters emergency mode.
Undervoltage and Overvoltage protection.
If the input voltage drops below 10V or exceeds 14V, the control unit enters emergency mode.
Overheat protection.
With prolonged heavy load caused by mechanical failures of moving parts or if the rotor touches the honey, the control panel may overheat. If power components exceed 100 °C, the control unit enters emergency mode.
Belt Gearbox Design:
The belt gearbox consists of a 100W high-efficiency electric motor, toothed belt, drive and driven pulleys. The gearbox base is made of 3 mm sheet steel painted with antibacterial coating. The drive pulley is made of aluminum, the driven pulley is made of primary glass-filled polyamide. All rotating elements use ball bearings. The drive uses a GT3x391mm toothed belt. The top cover of the gearbox is made of durable ABS plastic.
Service Life:
Our company conducted durability tests on gearbox components using a test bench with load equal to the operation of a 4-frame Dadant extractor, in use at medium-sized apiaries with 10–50 colonies.

– Electric motor, drive and driven pulley – at least 10–20 years
– Ball bearings – at least 3–7 years
– GT3x391mm toothed belt – at least 2–5 years
The device is designed for installation on radial and chordial-type honey extractors.
o For chordial honey extractors from 2 to 8 Dadant-type frames, with total load weight up to: 24 kg
o For radial honey extractors, limitations: 40–145 mm (half-frame), 36–230 mm (Rute), 18–300 mm (Dadant)

Attention! When using with gearbox-equipped extractors, dynamic braking must be disabled (menu 103 – Off). Improper use may damage the gearbox!
Installation and connection:
IMPORTANT! DO NOT USE CHARGING STATIONS OR LED DRIVERS. Control panel damage is possible and is NOT covered under warranty!
The control unit supports 6 programs, each of which can be edited by the user to set desired duration, speed, and pauses between cycles.
To change time, speed, and pauses within a program, press and hold the “PROGRAM” button for more than 3 seconds while in the desired program. After the beep, the device will enter programming mode.
For example, in program P2: After holding “PROGRAM” for more than 3 sec, the display shows P2.1 (edit time and speed for the first cycle). Briefly press “PROGRAM” to go to P2.P (edit pause between cycles), press again to go to P2.2, and so on. The program editing menu exits automatically after the last cycle is changed.
